He is a decorated hero, in receipt of the Purple Heart for being wounded and the Bronze Star for valor under fire. Before his army service, at the age of 15, he joined the Civilian Conservation Corp and preserved parks and built roads in Chaco Canyon, New Mexico.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years; Marie, three children; Frank (Shirley), Rick (Jamie) and Toni Marie (Doug), eight grandchildren, Frank, Andrea (Tim) Klees, Anthony (Emma), Carissa (Jeff) Thomas and Nicholas, Richard, Natalie and Veronica Quigg, four great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Samantha Klees and Cooper and Kylie Thomas. He leaves behind a sister, Jeanne, a brother, Vincent (Eadie) and many nieces and nephews. and four great grandchildren, a sister Jeanne, a brother, Vincent (Eadie) and many nieces and nephews.

He has made many friends along the way and has earned the love and respect of everyone who ever met this kind and caring man. He was Douglas Orr's first employee and is still revered by everyone he has ever worked with or came in contact with. His values of honesty and loyalty are second to none. His leaving has left us with a heavy heart but a heart that knows the happiness and joy that he was able to bring to everyone in his lifetime. He will be always loved and deeply missed.
