Billy Roy Abernathy, 59, of Killen, passed away March 6,
2011, at ECM Hospital in Florence. He was a member of the Church of Christ,
a shop foreman at TVA Power Service Shop and a member of the carpenters'
local.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Davis Abernathy; son, Chris
Abernathy and wife, Frankie; daughter, Bridgett Hildesheim and husband, Tommy;
stepdaughter, Melanie Bogus; brothers, Donnie Abernathy, Sonnie Abernathy;
sisters, Betty Smith, Peggy Peck; grandsons, Lee Franks, Chase Hildesheim;
granddaughters, Alyssa Abernathy, Gabby Hildesheim; stepgrandchildren, Ashtyn
Bogus, Molly Bogus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Buddy and
Arvella Abernathy, and first wife, Cathy Abernathy.
Visitation will be 6-9
p.m. Monday, March 7, at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at
2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with burial in Hill Cemetery. Officiating
will be Brother Tim Grigsby.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Hovater, Kenny
Abernathy, Wayne Holden, Bobby Newton, Tim McDougal and Miles Willis. Honorary
pallbearers will be Wendal Dean, Jackie Thigpen, Jerry Bogus, Johnny Jones and
Marty Rogers.
